Testimonials

The following are a few testimonials from work colleagues in the industry.

Armando La Hoz

Armando La Hoz

Stephen is like the Swiss army knife of the agency. He’s highly skilled on many fronts and is someone you can always rely on getting things done right. He laser focuses on a project and sees it through, from start to finish. He can handle any task, in any given project; design, art direction, photography, retouching, of course UX/UI; you name it.

He recently was expanding his knowledge base towards 3D design, which inspired me to look into it as well. That speaks to the passion he has for this business; never settle, always keep pushing. So many people get stuck in the old ways. Not Steve.

His work ethic is apparent; always ready to help with anything, along with a positive attitude. He’ll be a key element in any team that’s fortunate enough to have him.
— Armando La Hoz, Snr. Art Director, SCOUT

Steve’s knowledge of digital design, prototyping, and UX/UI is very impressive. His ability to think strategically while juggling numerous projects, with limited oversight, makes him an ideal member on any team. He can also work right alongside front and back end developers, speaking their language, throughout the process – which is a valuable and rare skill.

And in addition to all his tremendous skills in the digital marketing and development space, the one thing that sets Steve even further apart is that he is genuinely a delight to work with. His strong work ethic, professionalism, dedication to deadlines, and “always-positive” attitude made my time working with him a real pleasure.
— Zebbie Gillispie, VP Creative Director, SCOUT
Lawrence Lee

Lawrence Lee

I had the pleasure of working with Steve Chandler at Scout. He has deep knowledge of digital design especially building responsive websites and digital engagements.

His design approach is strategic and purposeful and always keeps the user experience in mind while laying out content that’s clear, simple and refreshing. Steve works well under pressure and I could always count on the quality of his output and timeliness of his deliverables.

As the lead designer on the beautiful electroCore.com website, he brought a modern design style to the brand.

His design sensibilities made the Emflaza.com website feel warm and friendly to help caregivers understand a devastating disease and the treatment for it.

If not for his attention to detail and passion for his work on the Northerahcp.com website, the development stage would not have gone as smoothly as it did. Steve played a pivotal role in the design and served as the direct line of communication with the development agency.

Steve is a joy to work with. I am truly impressed with his professionalism.
— Lawrence Lee, Executive Creative Director, CG Life

I had the good fortune to partner with Stephen over the past 2 years and was always impressed by his ability to push the creative team beyond their perceived limits. Stephen is a strong collaborator that always looks for ways to improve the effectiveness of the design or efficiency of the design process. He was integral in the migration to a modern digital design workflow introducing Sketch to the designers and championing its benefits throughout the organization.

Stephen’s eye for detail and sense of how visual design impacts the overall experience of the audience makes Stephen a valuable asset and would have an immediate impact on any organization he works with. I truly hope to work with Stephen again in the future.

I worked with Steve for the entirety of my employment at Hawthorne Visual. From day one I knew he was a great worker and excellent designer. Over the next two years I realized I was right. He is dedicated to his craft and designs small jobs with the same enthusiasm and care as large jobs. I would often go to Steve for comments and critiques on my work and he would always make time to sit with me and discuss. I would recommend Steve for any job without hesitation.
— Brett Houston, Art Director, 3BG

Chris Allen

During my time at Hawthorne Visual Communication it was always a blast working with Steve. The man seriously brings top-notch creativity to the table every day and always pushed the rest of us to keep up. His designs frequently were complimented from both clients and management. He also contributed several clever concepts that were used on successful campaigns. He is a hard-working, resourceful, stay-till-the-job is finished kind of guy. We regularly collaborated on a monthly web newsletter for The College Board. As my senior on that project he was responsible for designing each article, laying out each page of the newsletter and quality assuring the finished website and teaser email. Nothing escaped his eye! There’s nothing he can’t do!
— Chris Allen, Snr. UX/UI Designer, Microsoft

He eagerly embraces new technologies, techniques and approaches. His flexibility and ability to hit “fast moving targets” in a demanding industry, make him a true asset to the team.

Eric Seidel

Eric Seidel

As the lead Web Developer on several digital projects at Scout, I’ve had the chance to work with Steve many times. He is hands-down the most collaborative, personable and talented designer I’ve ever worked with. Steve always works diligently to understand the client’s needs. When planning his creative direction, he goes out of his way to ask questions, to study and research the client’s needs and what best serves those needs. He does this to understand as best he can how he can to tell the client’s as clearly as possible. Once he understands that, he’s able to employ an innovative approach to his designs. He’s always able to perfectly apply animations, on page movements, different web ui elements, color implementation techniques and many other things. He can do this because he’s taken the time to work with developers to understand the capabilities and limitations of web development. Steve always welcomes the opportunity to plan and brainstorm with web developers to empower his creative expression in digital design. As a developer, this makes working with Steve an incredible delight. Additionally, Steve’s attention to detail is extraordinary. With Steve’s creative direction, every pixel is planned and every on-page movement has a purpose. He never implements things in his creative vision just to be flashy. He does so with clarity of vision, again, to the serve the brand and the client. What makes working with Steve a delight, though, is his openness to his team members. He will take constructive feedback from his team and will give serious consideration to their merits and incorporate them into to his creative visions where necessary.

Every time I was told Steve was the lead creative on any project, I immediately felt confident the project would be completed on time, have unique, creative story telling and overall would be a delight from start to finish. As a web developer, Steve Chandler set the standard for creative-developer collaboration for me. He always strives for the most expressive, yet focused storytelling for his creative work, but he’s always reaching out and collaborating with those that can better serve him and the project as a whole.
— Eric Seidel, Web Developer, SCOUT
